Flat to let in the heart of the City

Wohnung im Herzen der Stadt zu vermieten

The History of the Area

Present day Beyoglu used to be called Pera, and was the quarter where Europeans had settled already during Byzantine times. Pera means "opposite" and thus denotes the area opposite the Sultan’s Palace on the Northern shore of the Golden Horn. Built by Genoese and Venetians, this is
where the embassies of the European powers were located, nowadays housing consulates.

After a temporary decline in the 1950’s Beyoglu is once again the cultural heart of the city. Here is where you find the main publishing houses, art galleries as well as the Museum for Modern Art and the Museum for Archaeology.
